MountainHeart Office Organizes New Charity Drive

Elkins, WV - The Elkins office of MountainHeart Child Care Resource and Referral Agency along with WV Birth to Three RAU 5 has organized a charity drive to coincide with their monthly safety meetings.  Staff members designated a charity within their service area for each month. They will collect appropriate items throughout the month to present to the local agency.

They began collecting items for the Randolph County Humane Society as the first recipient.  Melodee Price and Tara Bowley presented dog and cat food, bleach, pet toys, and dog biscuits to Terry Pritt of the Humane Society.

"The MountainHeart Elkins office wanted to give back to the community, so we thought if we could collect needed items for local nonprofit organizations, we would be able to contribute back to our community in some small way.  We agreed on 12 agencies/causes that we thought were in most need of assistance and that they too gave back to the community.", says Melodee Price, an early Childhood Specialist.

Here's a list of the agencies/ causes that they will be working with:
Randolph Co. Humane Society
North Central Community Action’s Food Pantry
Randolph Co. Children’s Advocacy Center
Elkins Junior Woman’s Club that is sponsoring the Elkins High senior graduation party
Woman’s Aide in Crisis
Randolph County Library
